Patch Madras Shorts - Necessary Summer Wardrobe


This spring and summers must have this attire “Patch Madras Shorts”. This bright colorful lightweight patchwork fabric has its origin in a southeast region of India known as Madras. The people of Madras made this staple fabric from the fibers of an ancient tree. From 12th century, they began to spin the high quality cotton fabric which known as Madras cotton. During 18th century, Europeans started to distinguish this lightweight fabric from other types of fabric. They adored it and started to ship it to Europe in large quantities. The staple fabric became a highly-prized commodity.
 
Finally, weavers started to follow the checked patterned fabric which resulted in Madras Shorts for Men, Patch Work Bermudas, Plaid Madras Shorts or Patch Madras Shorts, shirts, blazers etc.
